This Farmers Market Loaded Hummus is a guest-worthy appetizer full of vegetables and fruit. This healthy plant-based snack pairs perfectly with crackers or bread and it’s an easy appetizer to take along for summer entertaining.
Hello, I’m Joann of WomaninRealLife.com. Admittedly, I’d have trouble going through life without hummus. I eat it on toasted spelt bread, topped with tomato slices. It’s even a great dip for roasted cauliflower. I sometimes even eat hummus straight from the spoon. As addictions go, it’s a pretty good one. No harm done, and actually quite a few benefits.
Classic Hummus loaded with farmers market favorites!
The base of this Farmers Market Loaded Hummus is a classic blend of chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, cumin, and salt. Whip the ingredients together quickly in a food processor and you end up with a creamy and delicious spread perfect for smearing on toast or pairing with crackers.
To make this classic hummus recipe a guest-worthy appetizer, you need only grab some of your most-liked colorful and healthy toppings. For my Loaded Hummus, I went with a sprinkle of paprika, as well as chickpeas, red onion slices, baby cucumber slices, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, shredded lettuce, grape tomatoes, and fresh parsley. Simply spread the hummus on a serving platter and top with all the toppings! The dish becomes almost like a hearty salad. Scoop up a couple of tablespoons of the mixture and spread between two pieces of bread to make a delicious sandwich. Or serve to guests with a selection of crackers, carrot sticks, and cucumber slices.
