This insanely easy Fresh Fruit Salad recipe uses a pineapple as the vessel for a delightful presentation that’s filled with fresh farmers market finds. Perfect for summer gatherings!
It’s summertime! There’s nothing more exciting than warm summer days, laying by the pool, beach trips, and cookouts. Growing up, almost every weekend, we would go to my aunt’s house. There was always food on the grill, lots of swimming and games, and tons of laughter with family and friends. It was during this time that I bonded with my cousins more like brothers and sisters. We were as thick as thieves during the summer months and nothing could stop us. Summertime is when I learned what being a family meant.
Back then, there were no selfies and camera phones to take videos. The videos that we had were all taken on these giant camcorders. There was one video in particular that I’ll always remember and I’ve watched it over and over again. My cousins and I were having a contest to see who had the most black seeds in their piece of watermelon. As my younger cousin was counting her seeds, one shoots up and hits her face. It seems so silly now, but we have laughed about this happening for years.
