These Grilled Pineapple Teriyaki Turkey Burgers with grilled onions take outdoor grilling to a new level! Grilled turkey burgers are a low-fat option to traditional grilled burgers and the sweet and tangy taste of these will leave you drooling!
What are your favorite grilled burgers?
One of my family’s favorite summer dinners is a good old-fashioned, homemade burger. Usually veggie burgers for myself, but occasionally I go the turkey burger route, while the rest of the family enjoys beef burgers.
No more dry grilled turkey burgers!
I know turkey burgers can be notoriously boring or dry. But once you try this recipe for Grilled Pineapple Teriyaki Turkey Burgers, you will never feel the same way again. It’s juicy, sweet, and full of delicious goodness.
There’s no point in resisting this Teriyaki Turkey Burger!
Your taste buds will absolutely love it. It will take your backyard barbecue staple from basic to bold in a matter seconds!
Start by combining the following ingredients in a large mixing bowl:
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 tsp fresh ginger
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- dash of salt and pepper
Once the ingredients are well mixed, form small patties and set aside for now.
Next, slice 1 fresh pineapple and red onion into rings. Note: I was able to make 6 burgers out of the ingredients so I only grilled 6 rings of pineapple. Feel free to grill it all, or simply what you will use and save the rest for other recipes.
Grill the burgers, pineapple, and onion over medium-high heat. Burgers should take about 5 minutes on each side. The pineapple and onion may take less, depending on how thick you slice them.
When assembling your burgers, don’t forget to drizzle with additional teriyaki sauce for that extra punch of flavor!
If you want a spiced up burger, stop what you are doing and add this recipe to your grilling menu.

Notes
Home Chef Tip: Always start with a clean grill grate. This keeps burgers from sticking and helps put beautiful grill marks on your patties. I often spray the grates with non-stick cooking spray as well.
