Grilled Spicy Cilantro Lime Salmon is a 30-minute meal perfect for a weeknight dinner. Served with cauliflower rice and grilled veggies, this grilled salmon is Keto Diet friendly. Outdoor grilling never tasted so good!
Tips for the perfect grilled salmon:
Choosing fillets or steak cuts of salmon is perfect for grilling. Brush the grill grates with oil and heat the grill until oil starts smoking. This is an important step for grilling and it takes 10 to 12 minutes, but don’t skip it.
Check the salmon fillet for pin bones, then season with spices and herbs. Shake off the excess marinade from salmon fillets, place on the oiled grill grates facing the skinless side down, and cook on medium-high heat for 5 to 6 minutes on one side. When you notice the grill marks on the bottom side and the color changes to opaque white, flip to the other side. Wait until the bottom side gets cooked before flipping to the other side to prevent the fillets from falling apart.
Cook on the other side for another 4 minutes depending on the thickness of the salmon fillets. I used 5-ounce fillets per piece and grilled for about 10 minutes. Let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving. Salmon will keep cooking for a few minutes after you take it off the grill.
A meal that’s Keto Diet friendly!
Grilled salmon with cauliflower rice or grilled veggies is a balanced Keto Diet meal for weeknight dinners. Spices add flavor to the salmon with only a few calories and lime juice gives a mild tangy taste to the salmon. This spicy grilled salmon tastes so flavorful and aromatic.
Salmon is heart-healthy and is loaded with protein and Omega-3 fatty acids that are essential for our body. Those who are not fans of seafood tend to like this spicy salmon. The spices, like turmeric and coriander, curb the fishy flavor. Instead of grilling, you could even cook this on the stovetop or bake it using a sheet pan on rainy days.
