Can we talk about how versatile chickpeas are?
I’ve been cooking with them a lot more lately, and it truly amazes me how many different ways you can use them to create delicious recipes, including a new one: dessert hummus. With the addition of a couple extra ingredients, you can turn traditional hummus into a sweet dip that will remind you of cookie dough! This simple Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dessert Hummus is sure to be a hit at your next dinner party as an appetizer or a healthier after-dinner snack served with dipping items like cookies, fruit, or pita chips.
You’ll love this simple healthier dessert!
Made with blended chickpeas just like classic hummus, the addition of sweeteners, vanilla, and oats gives the hummus a dessert-like taste. Of course, the mini chocolate chips also make a difference! Serve the cookie dough hummus alongside wafer cookies, waffle cookies, or cinnamon sugar pita chips for a sweet snack that you don’t have to feel guilty about. After all, chickpeas are a significant source of fiber and contain potassium, vitamin C, and vitamin B-6 that work together to lower cholesterol and promote heart health.
