Spiced Cold Brew Cocktail Recipe
Infused Alcohols are a great way to add flavor to drinks without any extra additives or calories. Unlike flavored booze you buy at the store, making your own gives you total control over the strength and quality of the ingredients. Just keep in mind that some infusions can take awhile to steep so plan ahead. I used pretty strong spices for this drink so the vodka didn’t need to sit too long. The key is to taste the infusion often and remove your solids once the concoction reaches your desired taste.
In addition to mixing super flavorful vodka into this Spiced Cold Brew Cocktail, I used this great Kitchen Hack to add frozen creamy coconut milk to it as well. This trick works well with any non-alcoholic addition you want in your coffee like creamers, flavored simple syrups, or the coffee itself if you like it dark. I know it is summertime now, but pumpkin spice everything will be here in a few months and this drink is easily adapted to the seasons!
- 12 ounces cold brew coffee
- 4 ounces spiced vodka
- Frozen almond or coconut milk cubes
- Cinnamon sticks for garnish
- Combine coffee and vodka, divide evenly between two highball glasses.
- Add frozen almond milk cubes, garnish with cinnamon sticks, and serve immediately.
Hone Chef Tip: To make spiced vodka, add 1 cinnamon stick, 2 vanilla bean pods, and 6 black peppercorns to 4 cups quality vodka. Let sit in a cool, dark place for 2-3 days. Taste infusion daily until desired flavor is achieved. Remove solids and discard. Keep vodka in a lidded jar in the refrigerator for up to one month.
