4-Ingredient Grapefruit Thyme Mimosa Recipe
Pairing food with cocktails or wine is a lot easier than most people think. I get that it is intimidating at first; trust me I do! A foodie should be able to easily master those skills, except that is a lot of pressure to put on yourself. After stressing out over one too many dinner parties, I realized I was being ridiculous! Who really cares which pairings are ‘right’? What matters is what tastes good to YOU! I recommend you toss out any complicated notions you have about food and cocktail pairings. Instead, let your tastebuds be your guide!
The flavors in this 4-Ingredient Grapefruit Thyme Mimosa recipe are personal favorites of mine. The idea originated with my husband who likes to put honey on his morning grapefruit instead of sugar. It makes a sweet, sticky, tart mess you can’t help but love.
I use a similar flavor profile in my Honey Grapefruit Martini recipe. Both drinks contain fresh thyme, an herb that is near and dear to my heart. Freezing the juice mixture with herbs in ice trays is a fun way to include a pop of color in this cocktail too.
If you need to make this drink into a non-alcoholic mocktail, I recommend substituting sparkling grapefruit juice for the bubbly wine. You could also use plain sparkling water, but you risk watering the drink down as opposed to enhancing the flavors.
