Are you a quinoa lover? Do you love the Instant Pot? Struggle with perfectly fluffed grains for your recipes? Then this recipe to make 5-Minute Instant Pot Quinoa is perfect for you!

Over the last few years this tiny grain has gained a lot of focus in the food world. It makes great breakfast recipes and is a good substitute for rice. Quinoa can be used in so many recipes in various cuisines. However, all these recipes call for a bowl of perfectly fluffed quinoa as a base.

Why cook quinoa in the Instant Pot?

There are many ways to cook the grain, but I have been in love with my Instant Pot making a batch for me. With just one pot and one minute of cooking time, this method is perfectly suited for any recipe.

If you need a small amount for a recipe for dinner, you can make a cup of quinoa using this recipe or make a big batch and freeze to use over the week. This recipe scales pretty easily. So, if you struggle with mushy quinoa in your meals, this recipe is something you definitely need.

How does quinoa cook so fast in the Instant Pot?

Coming to the recipe, this easy kitchen hack can be used to simplify meal prep for the week. You need only three ingredients to make this; quinoa, water, and salt. If you would like to use the grains for desserts or sweet breakfasts, skip the salt. I like to add some crushed pepper and lime juice while making the quinoa to add more flavor, but that’s optional and doesn’t affect the recipe.

With all this information, you need to head straight to the recipe and make a batch yourself. Do not forget to freeze the leftovers and use them as you like throughout the week in all of your breakfast, lunch, and dinner recipes.

If you're adding lime to the quinoa, just add to taste. Hope you enjoy!

Worked beautifully. However, it's a bit misleading regarding Total Time (5 min.), especially to an IP newbie like myself. After 18 minutes, my float valve still hadn't gone down so I vented anyway. There was no steam left so I don't know why the valve didn't go down. This is only the 4th thing I've made in my IP, but with all other recipes the valve went down in a reasonable amount of time. Spoke with someone from IP and they said it was fine for it to take that long. Anyone else experience this? All that being said.....sorry......I love cooking quinoa like this because I don't have to watch it. Thanks!

You might need to cook it a little while longer, but not double time. Just check on it as you go.
