Who says a recipe has to have only one star ingredient? This Halloween cocktail lets two ingredients shine equally and they go together like Luke Skywalker and Yoda, Bert and Ernie, Batman and Robin. You catch my drift. It’s a match made in heaven for your Halloween party.

Vanilla Pear Spiced Cider Halloween Cocktail
Pumpkin Spice. I can remember my first ever pumpkin spice latte. But pumpkin spice can move over because this Halloween, I am on a mission to bring back cider. Pears, ginger, and vanilla bean in a cider? I thought I would give it a shot.
I set out to make this cider more interesting than just apples and loads of sugar so I came up with a healthier spin on an old fall favorite — apple cider! I love using the 100% real apple and pear juice with no preservatives. Cinnamon, anise, and fresh ginger are warming and help with blood sugar balance and digestion!
While this Halloween cocktail still contains calories and alcohol is optional for the adults at the party, I am still proud to say it is made with 100% real, whole ingredients so go ahead and indulge a little! This is still a pretty traditional recipe for cider which involves heating the juices and adding spices; a simple combination and perfect for a cold afternoon. Serve it with fresh sliced pears and ground cinnamon.

- 2 cups water
- 2 cups 100% organic apple juice (no added sugar)
- 2 cups 100% organic pear juice (no added sugar)
- 1 inch ginger root
- 1 vanilla bean (split)
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 star anise
- 1 shot bourbon or rum (optional)
- Add all the ingredients into a large pot and simmer for 20 minutes or until warm and the spices are well infused; taste test to adjust the spices.
- Serve in a mug with ground cinnamon on top and fresh sliced pear.
Home Chef Tip: Store in the fridge for up to 3 days, reheat on the stove.
