Angel Food Cake Cocktail Recipe

June 8, 2015 by Leslie Haasch 15 Comments

This 4-ingredient recipe for Angel Food Cake Cocktail is an adult dessert lover’s dream come true. Learn how to make this delightful summer cocktail with this easy-to-follow recipe.
Angel Food Cake Cocktail

There are some foods I can’t get enough of, and Angel Food Cake is one of them. Can you blame me? It’s light, fluffy, sweet, and tastes like absolute heaven. You can pair it with any fruit, top it with whipped cream, and it’s the perfect dessert for the summer.

As much as I love it, it’s sort of a pain in the butt to make. The ingredient measurements have to be exact, the bowl you use needs to be squeaky clean, you have to use a specific kind of pan, it has to cool upside down… sigh. It’s so good, but sometimes it’s hard to muster up the motivation.

Enter the Angel Food Cake Cocktail. It takes all of two minutes to make, and it smells exactly like angel food cake. No, really. I’m not joking around. It’s not reminiscent of the scent of freshly baked angel food cake, it smells just like it. The taste is pretty dead-on, too, and it has the added ability to get you a little tipsy. Normal angel food cake can’t do that, now can it? Take that, cake!

Angel Food Cake Cocktail

This Angel Food Cake Cocktail isn’t something you’d want to put in a big pitcher for a party since it needs to be shaken before serving. However, you could make a pitcher of it, keep it in the fridge and then measure out 10 ounces for each guest and shake it with ice right before serving.

I like to garnish my cocktail with a strawberry and a piece of pineapple, but if you don’t have them on hand, that’s okay. It won’t do anything to diminish the flavor of the drink – they’re just an added bonus. I’ve even been known to take a sip of my drink and then bite into a strawberry with a little bit of whipped cream on it. I highly recommend it. Think of it like when you do a tequila shot with the lime and salt. But instead of the tequila burn, it’s sweet and might encourage you to have some dessert. Take it from me – an Angel Food Cake Cocktail plus a slice of angel food cake is not overkill. Although if you have them both when you’re around me, I might be forced to help you get rid of them.
