Once considered quite exotic, Papayas can now be found in markets throughout the year. They have so many health benefits that you really should be using fresh papaya on a regular basis. If you just avoid it altogether because it’s such a mess to cut a papaya and buying it in the pre-cut chunks at your local market is very expensive, you’re going to love this simple Kitchen Hack.
First you’re going to chop off the top of the Papaya.
Then cut it in half either length wise or through the middle.
Next we are going to spoon out the black seeds. They are edible, but with a spicy peppery taste.
Spoon the seeds out and the slimy membranes.
Next you’re going to take a sharp knife and put it underneath the skin and pull the skin off. If this is hard for you, just simply remove the peel.
Cut into large chunks.
Then into bite-sized pieces. There you have it…cut papaya ready to eat in fresh salads, yogurt, or alone. You can even freeze them and add them into your smoothies.
