Hats off to the graduate with this amazing Strawberry Dulce de Leche Cake! Whether you are celebrating a graduation from high school, college, or receiving any type of diploma, it is time to celebrate!
This year we are celebrating my son’s 8th grade graduation, and while it may not be as important as a high school or college diploma, it is still something to celebrate and acknowledge! Transitioning to new schools, making new friends, and keeping up the demands of homework, calls for a great family BBQ and a glorious cake.
What better way to celebrate than with a three layer moist yellow cake, silky smooth Dulce de Leche, and fresh strawberry layers that’s all coated with a rich buttercream swirled with more Dulce de Leche? A decadent homemade cake like this proves that you are proud and that you took the time to show it. Dulce de Leche is extremely easy to make with the aid of a slow cooker. Simply put the unopened cans into the slow cooker and cover with water. Turn the slow cooker on low and cook for about 8 hours. Once done, open the cans and you will find the thick, creamy, and irresistible caramel ready to eat.
While the cake itself calls for quite a few ingredients, don’t be intimidated as it is quite easy to make and the batter will come together in less than 10 minutes. The cake layers are perfectly moist and almost melt into the Dulce de Leche layers. The added strawberry slices simply add a bit of fruit flavor to the cake that pairs perfectly with the caramel and yellow cake.
So, whether you are celebrating a well-earned diploma or just want to kick off summer, this Strawberry Dulce de Leche Cake is the dessert to do it with! Enjoy!
