The Everything Bagel Breakfast Pizza
Mmmm…pizza…the breakfast of champions! Wait. What? Oh yes, pizza. A favorite “All American” food group. Or is that Italy? Delicate crust slathered with meat and cheese and served up by the slice.
Cold pizza tends to have the same allure as a piping hot pizza and if cold pizza is acceptable for breakfast, then this Everything Bagel Breakfast Pizza should work the same magic.
I love this breakfast pizza. The crust is made from flaky crescent roll dough and it’s topped with everything you would find on an everything bagel. If you’re looking for something quick and easy with great flavor, this is it! You can have breakfast ready in about fifteen minutes. It refrigerates well. You can make it the night before and just cut and serve it in the morning.
Simply preheat your oven to 375 degrees and roll out your refrigerated crescent roll dough onto a sheet pan or baking stone. Bake for ten to fifteen minutes or until your crust is cooked through to a nice golden brown.
Remove your breakfast pizza crust from the oven and transfer it to a cookie sheet to cool.
While your crust is cooling you’re going to want to thinly slice two scallions. I used both the bulbs and stalks. In a small bowl combine your softened cream cheese with your thinly sliced scallions and mix well to combine.
Using an offset spatula, spread your scallion cream cheese on your crescent roll pizza crust. Make sure that your crust is completely cooled so you don’t end up with a melted mess on your hands. Leave about a one inch gap around the edges of the pizza crust where there will be no cream cheese mixture. The scallion cream cheese is going to serve as your base for the pizza and then you’re going to layer your “Everything Bagel” toppings right on top.
I topped this breakfast pizza with poppy seeds, dried minced onion, fresh dill, and smoked salmon, and then sliced it up with a pizza cutter.
Home Chef Tip: Take the cream cheese out of the refrigerator at the same time that you preheat your oven. This will give it enough time to soften up and make it spreadable so as not to rip your buttery crescent roll dough crust.
