Warm up with a Spiced Whiskey Spiked Apple Cider!
The changing seasons seem to help me adjust my mindset. Cooler temperatures always make me want to slow down a little. We are more likely to stay in for an evening with friends than to go out for drinks. Date night is usually spent snuggled on the couch sipping a mug of this Spiced Whiskey Spiked Apple Cider and binge watching our favorite shows!
My drink recipes tend to mimic the seasonal foods we eat. That means you need good, fresh apple cider to make this warming cocktail recipe. Luckily during apple season you can find fresh apple cider just about anywhere. I like to use fresh squeezed orange and lemon juices to add brightness to the warm spices like cinnamon and allspice. If you are making a large batch of this Spiced Whiskey Spiked Apple Cider recipe and don’t have the time or patience to hand juice the citrus, check out your local natural food grocer. Many of them now have fresh-pressed juices made to order on site!
Adjust this warming cocktail for fall entertaining!
You can adjust this fall flavors cocktail in a variety of ways. Need a non-alcoholic version? Simply leave out the whiskey. Making a batch for a party, but don’t want to play bartender? Keep the cider warm in your slow cooker and serve the alcohol on the side. Guests can serve themselves. Craving something a little creamier? Adding a dash of non-dairy creamer or Irish cream liquor makes this spiked cider taste like a caramel apple!
