Yes, it’s going to be a few weeks before regular pants and I are on good speaking terms again!
Until then, we are enjoying all of the festive food and drinks, including this Spiced Cranberry Mojito recipe. Everyone needs a festive holiday-inspired drink on the menu.
Spiced Cranberry Mojito Cocktail Recipe
For the last few months, we have been talking about alcohol infusions and enjoying drinks like my Spicy Pear Martini with serrano pear vodka. The thing about infusions though is that they take time to make! I will have a new batch of infusion related recipes to share soon, but in the meantime let’s talk about Spiced Cranberry Mojitos!
A classic mojito is known for its white rum, fresh mint, and lime. You know we love to add seasonal fruits and herbs to customize our cocktail recipes, so cranberry was a super natural choice for a holiday version. But to be perfectly honest, spiced rum was all I had on hand.
Since I am big on using ingredients already in the casa kitchen, our slightly festive mojito twist became an even bigger twist. And it turned out fabulously! All those warm spices, tart berries, and a hint of sweetness from honey.
We sipped on individual cocktails, but this recipe would be great as an adults-only, make-ahead holiday punch too. Check out my home chef tip in the recipe card below for hints on how to make this drink work for a larger group.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup fresh cranberries
- Honey to taste (approximately 1/2 teaspoon per glass)
- 24 fresh mint leaves
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 6 ounces spiced rum
- Sparkling water
- Lime wheels for garnish
Instructions
- Evenly divide cranberries and honey between 4 chilled glasses. Muddle berries with a spoon or cocktail muddler.
- Add 6 mint leaves to each glass, gently smash 2-3 more times.
- Evenly divide rum and lime juice between glasses.
- Add ice and top with sparkling water.
- Garnish with lime wheels and serve immediately.
Notes
Home Chef Tip: To serve at a party, triple recipe ingredients. Follow recipe except do not add sparkling water or ice. Prepare in a large pitcher or punch bowl. Base mix can be made several hours ahead of time. Serve with ice and sparkling water on the side so guests can prepare a fresh cocktail!
