Piña Colada Smoothie Recipe

July 15, 2015 by Amy Fulcher Leave a Comment

Learn how to easily make this flavorful Piña Colada Smoothie with just 3 ingredients. You only need pineapple, Greek yogurt, and ice to make this healthy frozen drink. Start your day off right with a smoothie that houses the flavors of the tropics.

Piña Colada Smoothie Recipe

Do you like Piña Coladas? Of course you do! Who doesn’t love a delicious pineappley and coconuty frozen drink? But do you also wish you had a way to drink one while sitting at your desk without getting in trouble with your boss? If that’s you, then this is your recipe!

Smoothie Ingredients
Smoothies can be as easy or as complicated as you’d like. I’m keeping things simple here. Just three ingredients. After you add those three, then you can boost it up to your heart’s content! It just so happens I’m using a yogurt that already has flaxseed, so consider this one pre-boosted!

Recipe type: Beverage
Ingredients
  • 1 part crushed pineapple with juice
  • 1 part coconut Greek yogurt
  • 2 parts crushed ice
Instructions
  1. Blend all ingredients together until smooth.
  2. Add additional ice as needed to reach desired consistency.
Notes
When making an individual smoothie, use 1 cup of pineapple, 1 cup of yogurt, and 2 cups of ice. Just multiply appropriately if you're making multiple servings.

Now let’s talk boosts! As I mentioned, I was able to find some Greek yogurt already loaded up with flax seeds. You can add your own, or choose other additions. Consider adding chia seeds, protein powder, or keifer. You can even add a little coconut oil for an extra healthy coconut boost. Maca and cacao are also great additions, but be mindful that both will take you a little further away from that traditional Piña Colada taste. I suppose we’re also missing the obvious addition of rum…but if you choose to add that in the middle of the day, I refuse to be held responsible if your boss finds out!

Piña Colada Smoothie Whatever extras you decide to add to your Piña Colada Smoothie, there’s one thing that’s not optional. It must have a little umbrella. Otherwise, what will you do when you get caught in the rain?
