Velvety mango cream dessert shooters are my suggestion for a fun and easy dessert to entertain at home. This is a 3 ingredients recipe, ready in 15 minutes.
Author: Chef Adriana Martin
Recipe type: Dessert
Cuisine: Mexican
Serves: 8 servings
Ingredients
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 4 champagne mangoes
  • ½ cup cookie crumbs
  • 1 marigold organic edible flower (optional)
Instructions
  1. Pour in the blender the whole can of condensed milk. Peel and cut the champagne mangoes and add to the blender.
  2. Blend the ingredients until getting a smooth cream. Pour this preparation into a plastic bag with a seal, for easy serving.
  3. Place the tequila glass shooters in a tray and add to each glass a teaspoon of cookie crumbs.
  4. Cut one of the ends of the plastic bag with scissors and start pouring the mango cream in each glass.
  5. Garnish with marigold flower petals or with bing cherries, optional.
Notes
You will need a blender to make this recipe, as well as tequila glass shooters for serving.

The fresh champagne mangoes can be replaced with canned manila mangoes, just discard the syrup.

It is not recommended to use other type of mango but champagne or manila to achieve the correct flavor profile.

This delicious recipe for the mango cream dessert shooters is inspired by a dessert found in my mother’s recipe box. She loved to use fresh seasonal fruit to prepare simple desserts for us at home. Every time I want to make something special, but simple, I use my mom’s recipe box to gather inspiration and spark creativity in the kitchen.

Preparing the Mango Cream Dessert Shooters

Since mangoes are now in season, it made perfect sense for me to prepare my mom’s original recipe with my own twist. Besides, who doesn’t love fresh mangoes? I always try to incorporate seasonal fruits and veggies in my recipes because it is not only less expensive, but also a great idea when thinking colorful and fresh options.

This recipe for mango cream dessert shooters calls for only three ingredients: champagne mangoes, condensed milk, and cookie crumbs. For garnishing, I am using organic, edible marigold flower petals, but that’s completely optional. I  love to grow organic, edible flowers in my garden along with vegetables and herbs.

The edible flower petals are optional. You can replace with more cookie crumbs or with a bing cherry. Edible flowers sometimes can be difficult to find locally. I like to use edible flowers as a garnishing for an upscale look and also to add color and aroma to any dish, dessert, or drink.

I enjoy organizing parties at home and normally I offer not only one dessert, but three different options. Serving desserts in tequila glass shooters is a clever idea. The shooters allow for a nice presentation while serving smaller portions of this decadent mango cream dessert.
