The next time you pour a glass of water, add in these Detoxifying Immune Boosting Lemon Ice Cubes. Lemons are considered one of the most alkalizing foods you can eat. Lemon peels contain a spectrum of vitamins, minerals, fiber, calcium, and potassium that can give your menu a nutritional boost. Lemon peel also helps in preventing bone-related diseases likes osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory polyarthritis.

Immune Boosting Lemon Ice Cubes Benefits

  1. Alkalize Your Body: Lemons are acidic and are alkaline-forming on body fluids helping to restore balance to the body’s pH.
  2. Boost Weight Loss: Drink lemon juice mixed with lukewarm water and honey. It can help reduce body weight. Lemons are made up with pectin which acts as a soluble fiber in our bodies. Pectin promotes digestion, and can actually help us lose weight.
  3. Abandon Your Anxiety – Research has shown that lemon balm has a calming effect, therefore may be able to help reduce fatigue, exhaustion, dizziness, anxiety, nervousness, and tension.
  4. Boost Your Immune System: Lemons are rich in vitamin C and flavonoids that work against illnesses like colds.
  5. Destroy Bacteria: Lemons have beneficial antibacterial properties. Experiments have shown that the juice of lemons destroys the bacteria of malaria, cholera, diphtheria, typhoid, and other deadly diseases.

Yes, you want the beneficial ingredients in the rind. :-)

I made these per instructions. When I put a couple of cubes in a glass of water, they melt and all the pulp goes to the bottom. That is hard to drink. Also, seeds in it. Should it be strained after blending?

I do not strain it because you want the nutrients in the peel. You can pull out the seeds after you blend it, and if you need to strain it go ahead and see how you like it. I like pulp so I drink it stirring it right before I take a gulp. Try to add just one cube per large glass of water.

Here is a good at home test I found: Here’s the Quick, at Home Way to See if You Have Low Stomach Acid Mix 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in 4-6 ounces of cold water first thing in the morning before eating or drinking anything. Drink the baking soda solution. Time how long it takes you to belch. Time up to five minutes. If you have not belched within five minutes, stop timing. In theory, if your stomach is producing adequate amounts of stomach acid you’ll likely belch within two to three minutes. Early and repeated belching may be due to excessive stomach acid (but don’t confuse these burps with small little burps from swallowing air when drinking the solution). Any belching after 3 minutes indicates a low acid level. Because the time frames can vary person-to-person, as well as how they drink the solution, this test is only a good indicator that you might want to do more testing to determine your stomach acid.

Hi there, I’m trying to find information on how much Lemon juice per day is too much? I try to drink 6-12 glasses of water per day, and put one lemon cube in about half of these (3-6 Lemon cubes per day). Is that too much lemon? I have read articles on the side affects of having too much acid/lemon juice, just wondered if you would know what is considered “too much”?

For something like that, we recommend you ask your primary physician. It's true you can definitely get too much lemon in your diet, but the exact amount would depend on each individual's size, health factors, etc.
