Festive Cranberry Sangria Recipe
This Cranberry Sangria is loaded with cozy and comforting fall and winter flavors. Red wine, cranberry juice, cinnamon sticks, apples, oranges, and fresh cranberries all work together beautifully in this holiday cocktail. Just look at that beautiful color! Who could turn down a glass of this?
I usually host Thanksgiving for my family, and every year I look forward to three things: My Thanksgiving cheese board, Sweet Potato Casserole with Marshmallows and Streusel, and Sangria. I think it’s so fun to have a festive cocktail to help celebrate the holiday.
Last Thanksgiving, I served Apple Cider Sangria, and although we all loved it, I wanted to switch things up this year. Cranberry Sangria seemed like the perfect drink for Thanksgiving and Christmas. My family of taste testers absolutely loved this Festive Cranberry Sangria. It’s not too sweet, it’s full of comforting flavors, and it’s incredibly easy to throw together. It’s the perfect accompaniment to your winter holiday meals.
If you want to make your sangria feel a little extra fancy, you can garnish it with sugared cranberries. There are just two simple steps; toss fresh cranberries with maple syrup, then roll the cranberries in granulated sugar. Let them set up in the fridge and then you’ll have a pretty, sparkly, edible garnish for your Sangria recipe. You can put them on cocktail picks or drop a few into each glass as you serve them.
I wish you all a beautiful holiday season. I hope it’s filled with family, friends, and plenty of Cranberry Sangria. Cheers!
- 1 bottle red wine (I used Pinot Noir)
- 2 cups sweetened cranberry juice
- 1/3 cup apple brandy (optional)
- 2 apples, sliced
- 1 orange, halved and sliced
- 3/4 cup fresh cranberries
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir to combine.
- Refrigerate for several hours to let the flavors combine.
- Serve chilled with sugared cranberries, if using (see note).
Home Chef Tip: Create a festive garnish by making sugared cranberries: Toss 1/2 cup fresh cranberries with 1 tablespoon maple syrup. Remove with a slotted spoon and roll the cranberries in 1/3 cup granulated sugar. Place on a plate and refrigerate until set.
