Ingredients
  • 2 cups warm water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 3.5 tsp yeast (or 1 and ½ packets)
  • 2 eggs (plus one for egg wash)
  • ½ cup oil
  • ½ tbsp salt
  • 9 cups of flour (and more on hand if needed)
Instructions
  1. Start with proofing your yeast by adding the warm water, yeast, and sugar to your mixer bowl and let it sit until bubbly, around 10-15 minutes.
  2. Next add your eggs, oil, salt, and half of your flour to the mixer, and start mixing with the paddle attachment.
  3. Keep adding flour until the dough pulls away from the side, waiting for it to get fully incorporated each time.
  4. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth.
  5. Place in an oiled bowl to rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
  6. Braid and then let rise for another 30 minutes to an hour.
  7. Bake at 350ºF for 25-30 minutes.
  8. Once baked, cut off the top and middle and place a wheel of brie inside with its top removed as well.
  9. Wrap in foil and cook an additional 20 minutes or until the brie is melted.
