Homemade Mozzarella Sticks
This recipe for mozzarella sticks is a lower carb and sodium alternative to traditional recipes.

  • 1-8 oz block Mozzarella Cheese
  • ⅛ Cup Bread Flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp Lactose Free Milk
  • ½ Cup Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp Mrs. Dash Garlic & Herb Seasoning
  1. Cut the block of cheese in half, then cut into 12 equal planks (4 blocks long-ways, then 3 planks per block).
  2. Place the flour into a bowl.
  3. Whisk the egg and milk in another bowl.
  4. Pour the bread crumbs and seasoning on a plate.
  5. Roll each cheese plank first in flour, then dredge in egg mixture, then cover with breading.
  6. Place the breaded cheese sticks on a plate and put them uncovered in the freezer for about a half an hour. This will help the “breading” set in and the cheese to harden a bit.
  7. Preheat your oven to 425º.
  8. Remove the cheese sticks from the freezer, place them on a non-stick pan, and spray the mozzarella sticks with cooking oil.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, depending on your oven.
