January 22, 2016 by Christy Gossett Leave a Comment

Skip the store-bought Valentine’s Day cards for the kids at school this year and thrill them by sending these fun DIY Valentine’s Day Tackle Box Food Gifts instead. Easy to assemble and economical, these food gifts will be the hit of the Valentine’s Day party!

Valentine Tackle Box Close Bright

Here at SoFabFood, we’re all about food! We love a good recipe as much as the next person, but when it comes to gift giving, we like to use our love of all things food to pass along smiles whenever we can. These DIY Valentine’s Day Tackle Box Food Gifts are our favorite project this time of year. They are simple to make, very economical, and they make a great alternative to store-bought cards to send to the classroom with the kids to hand out. These gifts are nut free and if you swap out the Gold Fish Crackers for more gummy options, they are gluten free as well.

Valentine Tackle Box Food Gift

If you’d like to make these Valentine’s Day Tackle Boxes for your little ones this year, here’s what you’ll need (quantities listed are per box):

  • 1 – 4-Compartment Container with Flip Top Lids
  • 10 Gold Fish Crackers (or gluten-free snack of choice)
  • 3 Swedish Fish
  • 4 Gummy Worms
  • 3 JuJu Fish
  • 3 ft red, white, or pink ribbon
  • Card Stock for writing or printing your message
  • Hole Punch
  • Scissors

Assembly is super simple and each box costs roughly $2.00 to make so this is a really affordable gift that they’ll love, and way better than those store-bought cards! Simple, extremely affordable, and super cute for the ocean lovers in your life. The best part is that there is virtually no waste with this gift idea. They’ll eat the candy and crackers and the containers are reusable. It’s a win for everyone!

We hope you love this DIY Valentine’s Day Tackle Box Food Gift as much as we do. If you love this fun food gift idea, visit our Valentine’s Day Pinterest Board for more great ideas for the special people in your life this year. Enjoy!
