Feeling HOT? This Blueberry Basil Gin Fizz is the perfect way to cool off on a summer day! Give the traditional gin fizz a seasonal makeover with this refreshing recipe.

Hi, friends! It’s Olivia from Olivia’s Cuisine here again to share something amazing with you.

I hope you are having a wonderful summer time and that you are staying cool. It’s been crazy hot here in the East Coast and I can’t leave my AC’d room. I guess you could call it a staycation, but I mostly see it as being held hostage to the weather.

So, yeah… I guess I’m looking forward to fall!

However, I can’t see summer go yet, even though I am definitely struggling with the hot weather. Oh no! Not before I share with you one last summer cocktail: the most refreshing and delicious Blueberry Basil Gin Fizz you’ll ever try!

I’ve been on a major gin kick this year, which is funny because I used to hate gin!

Ever since I tried my first Gin and Tonic, and completely despised it, I never touched gin again. Well, actually that’s a lie! I would touch it every day, since I worked as a bartender, but I never drank it again.

However, having to serve it daily got me curious to give it another try, since I absolutely loved the smell. So I made myself an Earl Grey Martini just a few months ago, and it was love at first second sip.

It turns out I hated tonic, not gin. Gin is delicious and I have been making fruity gin cocktails ever since and LOVING them!

Because my love for gin is so new, I haven’t yet tried all the gin cocktails out there. But so far, my all-time favorite gin drinks are the Martini (the fruity ones, not the James Bond one) and the Gin Fizz.

The Gin Fizz, especially, is a very refreshing cocktail that is perfect for summer gatherings or sipping pool-side.

The classic Gin Fizz is made with only lemon juice, sugar (or simple syrup), gin, and club soda. But have you met me? I like to play with my food and drinks, so I made a version with blueberries and basil that knocked the ball out of the park!

If you like summer cocktails that make you feel like you’re at a tropical beach, this Blueberry Basil Gin Fizz is for you. Crisp, summery, and oh so delicious!

Give it a try before summer is over. I promise you won’t regret it!

Home Chef Tip: Want to make a version for the kiddos? Just skip the gin! You can also use lemon-lime soda instead of club soda for a sweeter version.
