  4. Apples and Peanut Butter – By consuming one apple before you workout, your body will get loaded with vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin D, calcium, magnesium, and iron. And Peanut Butter is an easy way to add a Carbohydrate into your system before pumping iron. Peanut Butter is extremely rich in monounsaturated fats, the healthy variety that can prevent heart disease and is less likely to be stored as body fat.
  5. Multi Grain Crackers with Hummus – A Carbohydrate and a protein will help you get your energy before you work out. Multi Grain Crackers give you a little energy boost and the hummus is a double positive, full of protein to help your muscles recover and carbs to give you energy.
  6. Sweet Potato with Steamed Broccoli – Carbohydrates 30 minutes before your workout give you energy, and help keep your metabolism burning strong. Sweet Potatos are the ultimate source of vitamin B6, which is good for entire body health. Many fitness experts recommend eating sweet potatoes before working out.
