These Seasoned Pistachios are addictive as a healthy snack and can be ready in just 20 minutes. Blissful as a salad topping or a mid-day snack, you’ll want to keep these honey roasted and smokey pistachios on hand this summer!
Summer is here, everyone! I can tell because my urge to cook indoors is dwindling by the minute, and I much prefer one day of prep to get me through as many days of eating from the grill or fridge as possible. This seasoned pistachios recipe is going to go on that bulk cooking day as my new favorite salad topping and maybe even potluck snack. They are addicting and can easily be made sweet or savory. Even better, I whipped up two flavors easily in less than 30 minutes and will have tasty salads minus the heavy and expensive croutons for weeks!
We will start with the Sweet Honey Roasted Pistachios, however, both will need a preheated 350 degree oven.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups raw unsalted pistachios
- 4 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
To start, put the honey in a sauté pan to melt it on the stove over medium to low heat. Once it is much thinner, pull it from the stove and add your pistachios.
Once those are coated, pour them into a bowl with the salt and sugar and stirred until covered evenly.
At this point I sprayed a small sheet pan with a good amount of nonstick spray and added the pistachios on top in an even, single layer and popped them in the oven for 10 minutes.
When they came out, I gave them another stir and poured them onto another sheet pan lined with wax paper to cool.
That’s it! They are beyond tasty and for sure a new favorite and contender with the smoky pistachios I am going to share with you next!
Here is what you need for the Smokey Pistachios, a savory counter to the honey roasted.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups raw unsalted pistachios
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon of your favorite smokey seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
Similarly, these start with a sauté pan over medium to low heat, but this time add the butter to melt.
I poured my pistachios into the bowl this time and then added the melted butter when it was ready.
Then I added my smokey seasoning and salt and mixed until coated evenly.
Once again, I added to a sheet pan sprayed with nonstick spray, and popped into the oven for 10 minutes. It is just as easy!
They would also be delicious on a salad with grilled chicken or veggies. Yum!
It really is a toss up and hard to choose a favorite, so I highly suggest making both. I bet if you mixed them up it would be a delicious play on flavors as well! I like to store them in mason jars in the fridge because my home can get quite warm and I don’t want them to spoil before we get to enjoy them.
